Derivatives: εὐδιᾱνός `calm, bringing rest', of φάρμακον (Pi. O. 9, 97); εὐδίαιος of the fish-name τριγόλας (Sophr. 67), `catched in beautiful weather'(?) with εὐδιαίτερος (X.); as subst. m. `outlet in the bottom of a ship' (Plu., Poll.); εὐδιεινός `bright, calm, quiet' (Hp. Aph. 3, 12 v. l. beside εὔδιος, Pl. Lg. 919a, X. Kyn. 5, 9, Arist.; after φαεινός, ἀλεεινός); εὔδιος `id.' (Hp., hell. ; to εὐδία after αἰθρία: αἴθριος). Denomin. verbs εὐδιάω `be quiet, calm', of the sea and weather (A. R., Arat.; only ptc. εὐδιόων); εὐδιάζω `calm down, be quiet' ([Pl.] Ax. 370d, Ph.).
